COMPENSATION: $14 - $16/hour + 25% of Tips Dispersed Weekly by the Hour of BOH members

Opened in 2010, Sylvain is housed in a charming carriage house built in the late 1700s, paying homage to the rich history of our French Quarter neighborhood while embracing the dynamic spirit that propels New Orleans into the future. Sylvain is part of LeBLANC+SMITH which believes that all people should live joyful, balanced and fulfilling lives, in defining what 21st Century Southern Hospitality can and should be, and in developing all of our team members into great leaders. Our venues are Sylvain, Barrel Proof, The Chloe, Anna’s Bar and The Will and The Way.

JOB PURPOSE:

Be an integral part of Sylvain's culinary team in creating exceptional 21st Century Southern Hospitality experiences through technology, efficiency, and safety, prioritizing enriching interactions for both team members and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Embody the five core values: "I See You, I Love You," "Be Inspiring," "Do Cool Stuff and Stay Humble," "Teach Why," and "Create Contagious Joy."

- Execute menu items up to standards.

- Participate in developing new dishes and specials weekly.

- Take care of kitchen inventory and supplies.

- Maintain consistently high food quality and hygiene standards.

- Engage in food preparation and recipe development.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Sylvain operates as a full house (BOH + FOH) with a daily tip pool, allowing our team to work a schedule that suits their lifestyle best while offering a consistent paycheck week to week. We are seeking additional team members to help create and execute brunch and dinner dishes and services. These team members will work within a respectful and dignified environment that teaches and develops them, empowering them to become autonomous thinkers. Over time, they will evolve into great hospitality leaders.
